6/30/2003 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Penny, Randy, Kathie, Morgan and I started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going after the BIG GIRLS they were into TROPHY TROUT!!!
The weather was not the best, but that would not stop this fishing team.
We had Live Croakers, Live Shrimp and Live Shad and lots of Lures that would stay in the box because the TROPHY TROUT want the live Croakers.
We were on some trout until Randy Set the hook on a Jack Crevalle when the Wind and Rain came up on us I was thinking about cutting his line but he was having a great time with this fight. So we got wet netted the Jack and one QUICK WET PICTURE!!! And released the jack and off we went. We were out running from the the rain but it was every where so took of to a little camp to get out of the rain for about 1.5 hrs, were we had lunch and drinks and back to Fishing.

“Saturday, 06/21/03, Kathie, Randy, Morgan and myself took a fishing charter with Captain Dude!!!. We caught twenty-two quality trout. Randy set the hook on a twenty-five pound plus Jack Crevalle minutes before the rain started. It put up quite a fight and by the time he got it in the boat, the heavens opened up. Needless to say, we all got wet; but Capt. Dude found some shelter for us to wait out the rain. Once the rain stopped, we headed out to catch more trout. We were having too much fun to let a little rain get in the way! No matter your fishing experience, experienced angler or beginner, Capt. Dude will show you how to catch fish. We all had a great time. Thanks again.

6/24/2003 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Joel Morris,  Vincent and I started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou in his boat heading out to the BLACK BAY AREA IN SEARCH OF THE TROPHY TROUT
We caught one large MANTA RAY THE PULL WAS ON!!!
The trout were hungry for the Live Croakers and they were in the 18+ class and they were putting up a great fight.

One of the trout that I hooked up on was putting up a fight and all at once it took off, just see what happened to the trout the picture say it all!!!

At the end of the day we had:
40+ LARGE SPECKLED TROUT
1 RELEASED MANTA RAY

“On  4-24-03 on their last trip Mike hooked up on a Redfish and was pulling him all around the boat. He landed it after he put up a good fight in shallow water.
1 BULL REDFISH we moved and moved and found some trout in a bayou were we had some GREAT ACTION!!! Vincent was on the trout in this bayou!!! Some of the trout were caught on live minnows under a Cajun Thunder Cork!!! Joel was very happy because his wife said don’t come home unless you have dinner!!!
At the end of the day on 4-24-03 we had:
18 MARSH SPECKLED TROUT
1 BULL REDFISH
5 SOUTHERN FLOUNDERS
Not a bad day after all for 25+ miles per hour wind!!!”

We had a great day fish on all day!!!

Kymberly & Brian Drury Angel Soriano and Chantel Brignac in my boat and Rhonda & Ray Chidester, Brenda & Wally Harkcom in there Scout boat, and I started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going to BLACK BAY FOR SOME TROPHY TROUT!!!

Captain Gene was also out just getting on some trout when we pulled up!!!
Fish on!!!
The bite did not last long with all of the boats moving around!!!
It was time to move on!!!

Brian Drury and I was talking about the fight of a JACK CARVALLE and just then one big splash right nest to his cork. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!

THE JACK CARVELLE WEIGHT 25.5 LBS AND RELEASED TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY!!!
THE UGLY STICK REALLY HAD A WORK OUT!!!
WE ALL HAD A GREAT DAY CATCHING SUCH QUALILTY TROUT!!!

6/16/2003 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

FATHER’S DAY Out for another trip Ronald Kipper his wife April Kipper and friend Edlow Jones we started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou heading out to BLACK BAY FOR SOME TROPHY TROUT!!! We had THE BAIT SOME LIVE CROAKERS!!! This is what the TROPHY TROUT are eating they hate them, because the CROAKERS are eating the trout eggs. We also used Live Shrimp, Live Minnows, Live Shad, Dead Shrimp, and Lures.

April Kipper looked like she was on ESPN FIGHTING A LARGE JACK CREVALLE IT WAS HEADING TO CUBA, UNTIL THE FISH SNAGED ON ANOTHER BOAT FISHING LINE THE JACK WAS ON THE TOP OF WATER FINALLY  GETTING TIRED BUT NOT AS TIRED AS APRIL WHEN, THE OTHER BOAT UNSTEAD OF LETTING HER ENJOY PULLING IN THE FISH BY OPENING UP THEIR BAIL DESIDE TO PULL AND PULL UNTIL THEY MADE THE FISH BREAK OFF!!  THANKS FOR NOTHING TO THE BOAT NEXT TO US!!!

“The trip in November was memorable we hooked up as soon as we stopped we ended up limited out with 25 Red Fish nice size 17”- 28”. We need some more Speckled Trout so we took off after them. Caught 40 nice Speckled Trout and 3 Bass one of the Bass was 3.7 lbs. Great Day!!! The Ladies Put the Hurt on the Dudes with the Largest Red Fish and Largest Speckled Trout. They defiantly put the hurt on the Red Fish!!!
Glen Told me he gad a 15 lb Bass when hooked up, I almost fell out of the boat laughing!!!
This also was a fun Trip for all of us!!!”

We were on some fighting trout and redfish!!!

On ”FATHER’S DAY” we finished up with:

John William and his brother who I had the pleasure of fishing with again, we started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou heading out to BLACK BAY FOR SOME TROPHY TROUT!!! We had THE BAIT SOME LIVE CROAKERS!!! This is what the TROPHY TROUT are eating they hate them, because the CROAKERS are eating the trout eggs. We also used Live Shrimp, Live Minnows, Live Shad, Dead Shrimp, and Lures.

This is a day where the bite was on!!!
The weather was perfect AFTER waiting until 8:00am when the rain moved on!!!
We were on some fighting trout and sheephead (bay snapper)!!!
All of the trout were 14”+ class!!!

Mr. Sarpy, Jim, Barry, John, Mike and I were heading out to BLACK BAY FOR SOME TROPHY TROUT!!! We had THE BAIT SOME LIVE CROAKERS!!! Live Minnows, Dead Shrimp, and Lures.

We made a few stops caught 8 channel mullets 4 Galf Top Catfish, 8 Real nice trout and one 40” Bull Redfish @ 23lb 4oz. One hell of a 20 minuet fight in 2’ of water!!!

6/9/2003 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Today was a real tough start on Black Bay with S/S/W winds blowing steady at 18 knots and gusting slightly more. There were 3′ to 4′ waves, but this did not discourage a large group of guys.  THE BIG GIRLS WERE BITTING TODAY!!!  We had to cut the trip a bit short as some bad weather heading out our way. THESE DUDES!!! Had managed to place 1st at the Fais-Do-Do rodeo in the 5 speck stringer category, 2nd in the largest Speckled Trout, and 1st in the Black Drum. Congratulations to the winners!! My thanks to Capt. Gene, Billy and Harvey for putting this great group of people on FISH!!!

We all were talking about old times in California

It was a day the bite was slow but one we all enjoyed!!!

We even took time out to see some of the ROSEATED SPOONBILLS and EGRETS NESTING ON A ISLAND.

6/7/2003 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Mary and her son Jamal Diab came in from Kansas with their boat to fish Louisiana again, Last time down was July 27, 2002. They had an arsome time catching 43 nice trout one trip of many that they made while down.

I jumped on their boat for a quick 2 hr evening trip when they just came in, we started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou and the first stop we had fish on as soon as we stopped the boat, Trout and Flounders!!!

They mad several very successful trips on their own. One big Bull Redfish!!!
