8/30/2004 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Sheree Thornell & Leonard Jimenez and I started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going to fish Black Bay and Breton Sound in search of some Trophy Speckled Trout and Monster Bull Redfish!!! We stopped one of my Hot spots we were using live Croakers on the bottom. Wham!!! Sheree was hooked up on a “BIG GIRL” after she landed it I was trying to get a picture, by the time I could get the camera ready she had another one, going after the camera again and she hooked another one so I took a picture of all three in the net. This was some fast action but did not last long. It did not take long for Leonard to learn the feel of how to set the hook on these Trout. The wind started to get stronger so we went to the Marsh for some Redfish and landed two red in the 20” class.

We caught
2 Redfish
16 Speckled Trout
1 Sheephead

Tide = 2.09’ Rising till 12:24pm
Weather = Partly Cloudy
Winds = 10-15
Waves = 1’to 2’
Water Temp = 80 Degrees
Water = 1’ Visibly in some areas

8/25/2004 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Missed a Picture of the Monster Bull Redfish Picture!!! Bob Hafner and Jim Hafner in from Oklahoma to get on some Louisiana Fishing Again. We started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going to fish Black Bay and Breton Sound in search of some Trophy Speckled Trout and Monster Bull Redfish!!! Missed a Picture of the Monster Bull Redfish Picture!!!

8/24/2004 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Bob Hafner and Jim Hafner in from Oklahoma to get on some Louisiana Fishing Again. We started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going to fish Black Bay and Breton Sound in search of some Trophy Speckled Trout and Monster Bull Redfish!!!
Wham!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! Bob Hafner was Hooked up on a Monster Jack Crevalle Stripping all of the line down to just a few raps left on the reel so we had to chase him down with boat. After a 20+minuet struggling with him Bob Had to take break. We took a few quick pictures with the Beast of 25lbs then released him to give someone else a chance at great fight. This one was just 2 lbs smaller then the one he had caught last trip out.
On another stop Wham!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! Bob Hafner was Hooked up on a Monster Bull Redfish and it was no stopping this one and the line was popped on one of the rig pilings. They were just getting the best of us!!! After a while it was getting too windy and ruff to stay on the outside so we headed into the marsh and Bob Hafner Wham!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! It was a Marsh Redfish he hooked this one right next to the boat, evenly tuned him and landed the Bright Orange / Golden Redfish!!!. Jim Was on the Big Girls Bring them home!!!

We caught on the 1st day
1 Redfish
16 Speckled Trout (The largest one was 4.5lbs, the rest in the 3lb class)
1 Black Drum
1 Sheephead
1 Jack Crevalle (25 lbs Released to fight another day)

Tide = 8” Falling
Weather = Partly Cloudy
Winds =West Wind 10-20
Waves = 2’to 3’
Water Temp = 78 Degrees
Water = 6” Visibly

The 2nd Day it was a perfect Day to fish Breton Sound, Bob Hafner came in because He Wanted a Trophy Monster Bull Redfish for the wall. After catching a few Sharks and Lady Fish, we were move on from rig to rig in search of the Monster Bull Redfish. Wham!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! Hafner was Hooked up on a Monster Bull Redfish after he landed the first one his Son Jim Hafner hooked up on A Monster Bull Redfish with one following right after the one hooked up!!! Jim Landed his Beast of 40” 23lb. Then it was the one we saw The Monster of the Day Wham!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! Mr. Bob Hafner was hooked up on his Trophy Monster Bull Redfish for the wall, after a 20+ minute fight he landed the BIGGEST ONE OF THE DAY it was 41.5” long all of 25lbs. This made his Trip with the one for the Wall!!!

We caught on the 2nd day
3 Bull Redfish (THE BIGGEST ONE was 41.5” long all of 25lbs) (LIMITED OUT ON BULL REDFISH)
9 Speckled Trout (The largest one was 4.5lbs, the rest in the 3lb class)
1 Southern Flounder

Tide = 1’ Falling
Weather = Sunny All Day
Winds =Light winds 5 miles per hr.
Waves = 6” to 1’
Water Temp = 79 Degrees
Water = 3’ Visibly

Another Successful two days of Fishing with The Dude!!!
And with some Great conditions from Mother Nature!!!

8/23/2004 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Curtis and son Zack Stafford, Joe Tucker. We started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going to fish Black Bay and Breton Sound in search of some Trophy Speckled Trout and Monster Bull Redfish!!!
The weather was windy, not the best conditions for Black Bay. We stopped at several of my Hot spots we were using live Croakers and Live Shrimp on the bottom. Wham!!! Joe Tucker was hooked up on Trophy Trout ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! The bite was slow but steady you had to be patience to catch some of The “BIG GIRLS” Trophy Trout!!! Wham!!! ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! Zack Stafford on a Bull Redfish in shallow what a fight!!! This was the winner of the BIG FISH of the day a Bull Redfish the MONEY!!!

Another Successful day on the Bayou!!!

17 Speckled Trout (3lbs to 4lbs Class)
3 Sheephead

8/16/2004 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Bob Sossaman and son Greg Sossaman, Charlie Guerin Sr and son Charlie Guerin Jr. We started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going to fish Black Bay and Breton Sound in search of some Trophy Speckled Trout and Monster Bull Redfish!!!
The weather was cool with 2’ waves a steady incoming tide just perfect for Black Bay. We stopped at several of my Hot spots we were using live Croakers and Live Shrimp on the bottom. Wham!!! All everyone was hooked up on Monster Bull Redfish ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! Every one passing the rods around each other and under the anchor rope they were not giving up easy. Landed 5. LIMITED OUT IN BULL REDFISH BY 6:20 am. Wham!!! We saw the SPLASH Charlie Guerin Sr. hook up on a SCREAMER ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!! This Monster Jack Crevalle was on the move after a 20+minuet struggling going around and around the boat, passing the rod around every one fishing this was because we were in only 1’ of water. He eventually landed the BEAST posed for a quick photo then released. We were using Live shrimp under a Cajun thunder cork in 2’ of water. Due to the wind we starter fishing in the marsh we landed 4 tasty Southern Flounder, the cooler weather and water temp. Made the fish bite more of a feeding frenzy style.

Another successful day on the Water!!!
We caught
5 Bull Redfish (40” long 23 lbs) (LIMITED OUT) (Released another 8 Bull Redfish) (Released 5 Rat Reds)
1 Black Drum
5 Speckled Trout
4 Southern Flounders
1 Jack Crevalle (16 lbs) (Released to Fight Another Day)
1 Lady Fish

Tide = 1.58′ Rising
Weather = Partly Cloudy
Winds = 10-25
Waves = 2’to 3’ White Caps
Water Temp = 70 Degrees
Water = 1’ Visibly some areas 3” and muddy

8/3/2004 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Mary and her son Jamal Diab towed their boat all the way from Kansas it is a fast Action Craft. We started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going to fish Black Bay and Breton Sound in search of some Trophy Speckled Trout and Monster Bull Redfish!!! Just as were getting in to Black Bay the motor started missing so we made a quick stop and Landed 27 trout in the just a few hrs. With the motor trouble she was having we started back around 11:00 because I knew we were going to have a slow ride in on 4 Cylinders firing.

We caught
27 Speckled Trout

Tide = 2.2′ Rising till 3:30 pm
Weather = Hot and over cast
Winds = Calm 5-10
Waves = 1’
Water Temp = 80 Degrees
Water = 1’ Visibly

8/2/2004 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

We started down Dudenhefer’s Bayou going to fish Marsh and Bayou search of some Speckled Trout and Grilling Redfish!!! Julie Baudier – Copeland was having a problem launching her boat due to a circuit baker popping off after fixing the problem. We were just going to have a quick evening fishing trip. We were on the redfish both of hooked up at the same time finished our limit in just 30 minuets. Then off to catch a few Trout the bite was slow and some were too small to keep.

We caught
10 Redfish (Limited out)
6 Speckled Trout

Tide = 1′ Falling
Weather = Partly Cloudy
Winds = North 5-10
Waves = 1’
Water Temp = 80 Degrees
Water = 6” Visibly
