11/27/2002 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Went out on Bill & Sharon new boat to show them some hot spots to fish and some of the mud flats and other hazards in the area. We were fishing with live shrimp under a cork. The Reds were on!!!
We caught 7 Red fish one was 33″ long!!! Fishing is shallow water they really put up a fight!!!

11/26/2002 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Ron kipper said we want to get on some Red Fish, we headed down Dudenhefer’s Bayou in search of what he wanted. We started on some trout but the tide was moving slow, and had a caught a few trout and two nice Red Fish. Captain Gene was fishing near us and was catching some trout. I wanted to see if I could find where they were stacked up so we moved. Larry calls me and said he limited out on reds already had his 15 Red Fish, so we took off after the hot spot. We hooked up as soon as we stopped we ended up limited out with 25 Red Fish nice size 17”- 28”. We need some more Speckled Trout so we took off after them. Caught 40 nice Speckled Trout and 3 Bass one of the Bass was 3.7 lbs. Great Day!!! The Ladies Put the Hurt on the Dudes with the Largest Red Fish and Largest Speckled Trout. They defiantly put the hurt on the Red Fish!!!
Glen Told me he gad a 15 lb Bass when hooked up, I almost fell out of the boat laughing!!!
This was a fun Trip for all of us!!!

Had another awesome day of fishing with the Hilton family frome Zachry LA. We were fishing with live shrimp under a cork. The guys were having a great time. Captain Gene had half of the family on his boat. We finished our trip at 1 o,clock with the 2 boat total of 138 specks, 22 reds, 6 drum and some bass. an awesome day!!! Lets Go Fishing!!! 11/20/2002 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Limited out with 75 Speckled Trout this was the 2nd day in a row!!!
We also had 10 nice Redfish 20” to 28”, 7 Bass, 7 Black Drum and released 25+ Sheephead. So many Fish we even filled up my Large Bait Well!!! We had a blast!!!
Rodger Yonker and Larry stayed at the Bayou Camp.
We headed Down Dudenhefer’s Bayou the wind was at our back it was blowing out of the North – North West. We were catching the trout on live shrimp. Be Carefull with the low tides I had caught 2 crab traps in 2 days in my prop, the storms must have cut off the corks!!! Lets Go Fishing!!! 11/18/2002 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

In from Alabama Rodger Yonker and Larry stayed at the Bayou Camp and was concerned about the 30 to 40 Miles per hour wind as we headed Down Dudenhefer’s Bayou the wind was at our back it was blowing out of the north.
At one stop were watching Captain Gene Dugas and Rogers friend catching trout one after another. Then I asked Gene did you call us over to watch yall!!! Catch fish we had a good laugh but after a while we got on them. Wham!!! The trout were on!!!.
Then we both moved to some more hot spots. It was one of those days most every one stayed home but the duck hunters.
The wind was even making White Caps in my Bait Bucked!!!
But we were all determined to catch Fish!!!
We were catching the trout on live shrimp. We ended up limited out with 75 Speckled Trout, 4 Bass, 3 Black Drum, and thru back a lot of sheephead.
What a great day it was!!!

11/14/2002 Captain Dude!!! Hopedale / Delacroix Island Fishing Report!!!

Ronnie, Harold, Charlie and Raymond came down from Arkansas on Monday night and stayed in the Bayou Camp so we could get off to an early start on the trout action. Monday night was raining cat and dogs with a 30+ miles per hour north wind.

We went to one of my hot spots that was just a skip and a jump away looking for some trout action!!!. We were fishing with live shrimp under a popping cork. The wind was still blowing 30+ and we were still caught 28 Speckled Trout, 10 Black Drum,5 Sheephead, 3 Bass, 1 Flounder and 4 Red fish.

These guys came to Louisiana to fish, the wind had us tangling lines but that did not stop them.

It ended up being a great day to fish!!! So where are you!!!
